Adela
Peeva
Director of Music
Adela Peeva has
served Unity of Delray Beach as director of music since June 2003. Originally
from Bulgaria, Ms. Peeva
holds bachelor's and master’s degrees in piano and choral conducting
from the Bulgarian Music Academy
and a master's degree in choral conducting with a minor in organ from Florida International University.
Currently, Adela is an adjunct faculty member at Florida
International University,
and received a doctorate in 2008 in accompanying and
chamber music from the University
of Miami. Adela taught music at the American College
of Sofia (Bulgaria)
for six years, and has performed extensively as a pianist, collaborative
artist, and choral conductor throughout the United
States and Europe. She
was the winner of the Artslink competition for Eastern European artists in
1999. In addition, Ms. Peeva is the
author of a popular children’s music book, I Play the Piano, published in Bulgaria in 1995.
